Andrew Hammond is currently offering a free guitar lesson to prospective students, beginner or experienced:
You can find full details of my Music Tuition at http://manchesterguitartuition.wordpress.com.
For five years I have been teaching students of all ages, abilities and interests. I have a sound engineering degree and experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A-Level music and music technology in schools. I am able to provide a full CRB check (Sept 2010) undertaken to allow work in schools.
I'm able to provide a guitar if students do not own one yet and happy to teach all standard guitar styles, from beginner to advanced levels, and I specialise in acoustic American folk. For the very beginner students who have not yet bought their own guitar, or those using public transport, I am happy to share my instruments.
In general, I like to provide relaxed lessons that focus on the interests of the student. There are plenty of opportunities to learn the songs you’ve always wanted to play, and hopefully you’ll let me reveal how they were created too.
During our first lesson we will likely talk about what your aspirations are, and how we should work towards them, which artists you enjoy and how much, or little, you want to concentrate on music theory. There will also be time to show you a few new tricks to practice until the next lesson.
Normally I teach from home, after all, that is where my equipment is. However, if you happen to live close by I may be able to visit you, dependent on distance/travel time and how it effects my other lessons.
I charge: £20 per hour, or £12 for 30 minutes.
